Help is at hand
This page and associated sub-sections is a work in progress.
I aim to build is a list of support groups, agencies and resources. It is by no means exhaustive and will continuously be updated and reviewed. If your organisation or resource is missing and would like to be included please message me to let me know. Similarly if you see something linked here which you think is inappropriate, please reach out. Thank you.
Trans and Non-Binary Information
For trans youth and adults, their families and friends.
Mental Heath Support Suicide Prevention
Alice found it hard to engage with services.
Some of these resources could have helped us. They may help you. However some mental health services actually harmed Alice. There is a lot of transphobia in the NHS. Alice's Campaign
aims to address this.
Bereavement Support
I cannot emphasise enough the benefit of the support I've found by connecting with others in a similar situation.
Non-Fiction and LGBTQ+ media
Particularly recommended for allies and those who lack understanding of the trans experience, as I once did. If you only read mainstream media you will be woefully misinformed.
Fiction
Books for all ages by trans and non-binary writers, and/or with trans and non-binary characters.
When things go wrong
Complaining is never easy especially when you are experiencing minority stress and are exhausted and overwhelmed. Here you'll find some links to help you complain, be it to a GP, a school or a newspaper.
